CSI EffectIt has been dubbed the CSI Effect. It is where juries come to the courtroom thinking they know a lot about how forensics and the judicial system work (Fay). These police shows, such as CSI, Law & Order and other Hollywood style police shows, have become insanely popular, pulling in 24 million viewers a week (Criminal Law). Hereafter, these shows will be referred to simply as CSI. The CSI shows does not include New Detectives or Forensic Files, as these are based on actual cases and are not dramatized by Hollywood.
